Burgenland
Burgenland is a wine region located in eastern Austria, covering an area of nearly 14,000 hectares. It borders Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia. A distinct division of the seasons, seasonality, and differences in temperature between day and night make Burgenland ideal for growing grapes and producing wines characterized by a fresh, pronounced aroma. The most popular red grape variety is, of course, blaufränkisch, but there are also zweigelt, sankt laurent, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, and syrah, and among the white varieties – grüner veltliner, pinot blanc, chardonnay, and riesling.
Weingut Heinrich Vineyard
This vineyard is located in the Austrian Burgenland region, in the small town of Deutschkreutz. The Heinrich family is one of the leading and largest producers of red wine in central Burgenland. The oldest records in the Urbarium register date back to 1767 and testify to a centuries-old tradition of grape growing. The first wine from the Heinrich house was produced in 1992. The creations of Gerti and Johann were characterized by consistent high quality and satisfied even the most demanding consumers. In 2010, the vineyard was taken over by their daughter, Silvia Heinrich, who had been actively involved in the company since 2002, contributing to its successes. Heinrich and her team produce almost exclusively red wine. Numerous awards confirm the quality of Silvia Heinrich's wines. Publishers of the renowned magazine "Wirtshausführer Österreich" named her "Winemaker of the Year 2014."
Our Sommelier Recommends – Alpha Rose Wine
Alpha Rose wine is an excellent choice for summer. It is rosé, full of fruit and fresh acidity. It pairs perfectly with fruit salads, salmon, or simply for quenching thirst.
